Hormel Chili's Hot & Spicy Beans

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hormel Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.
Chili beans has been one of our favorites especially with chips and hotdogs. That is why we always see to it that we have plenty of stocks in our pantry and it should not be any other brand than hormel. Hubby and I love Hormel Chili Hot & Spicy beans. It is delicious. Even when I was still pregnant til now, I still eat it. That's the only beans and spicy food that I can eat because I can't resist the temptation. Spicy food and beans are only a few of the things that I should avoid since I am breastfeeding. This will cause gas to babies but I guess, my boy has been used to it since he is not complaining or hurting every time I eat it. I love it with chips as a dip and also with hotdogs. My husband always add slices of hotdogs or hot links, which is really good with it, to a pot of Hormel's Chili beans while heating it. Then on our plate, is a slice of bread with mustard on it. We then spread the heated chili beans on it then topped with a slice of cheese. It really tastes good and easy to prepare. My husband used to heat a can with hot links on it every time I had my craving when I was still pregnant. I thought the baby really liked it too.

Thanks Hormel for the chili beans, our favorite! Thanks to Dinty Moore products too. Like Hormel products, Dinty Moore products taste great in hearty meal recipes. I heard that in the 30s, characters Jiggs and Maggie from “Bringing Up Father” were used in Dinty Moore advertisements. Later, a lumber jack character was introduced, proclaiming “First name’s Dinty, last name’s Moore,” who placed his signature thumbprint on every can. Utilizing celebrities proved to be a popular route in promoting Hormel chili. Ray Milland, star of “Copper Canyon,” appeared in print ads. In the 80s, pro football player Fran Tarkenton was tapped to promote Hormel chili. Now, you can still see the ad with football players. Also they are celebrating their 75th anniversary! They began with 1 product each and has evolved into 20 varieties today. Check out their different products at their website. Don't forget to try their recipes.

Chicken Curry

This is my friend's version of the Chicken Curry. If you can see, the chicken curry's ingredients are a bit different from other chicken curry recipes you can find online but it tastes good too. I like it better since I can find these all in my pantry and that means, I don't have to buy an ingredient just for a certain recipe. I can cook this dish anytime I want. You would probably like it too so try it. Thanks Isabelle for the recipe.

1 whole chicken cut into pcs
1 whole red onion
4 pcs carrots
3-4 pcs potatoes
1 green bellpepper
1 red bellpepper
2 pack of raisins (optional)
8 cloves garlic (chopped)
3 pcs shallots (sliced)
2-2/12 tbsp curry powder (depends how much amt you want )
3/4 can of coconut milk
6 pcs tomatoes (sliced)
black pepper
salt
1 cube knorr/chicken bouillon
*cut all the ingredients into pcs/cubes

1. Heat wok then saute shallots and garlic till brown.
2. Put chicken, add blackpepper and knorr cube then saute. Cover for like 5 mins in a medium fire.
3. Wait till water dries up and the chicken is golden brown...stir occasionally.
4. Add potato and carrots...stir then cover and simmer in a low-medium fire till tender. Add the curry powder...stir.
5. Add the bellpeppers, red onion, raisins then lastly, tomatoes and coconut milk. If all ingredients are cooked or tender, you can add salt but taste it first cos curry powder is a bit salty already and you may not want to add salt. Serve with rice.

Wellness Daily

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of wellnessdaily.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

I believe that first impressions last. That is why I am trying my best to get back to my old self, physically. I was 118 lbs when I first arrived here in US. I gained so much weight 2 years later and I had tried pills to lose weight. I had been exercising and watching my diet but still, I was not improving much. Maybe, I had only exerted less effort and haven't religiously done exercises. I know I was not really serious with it because sometimes I was tempted to eat a lot and I was too lazy to do other things after work. Especially when I got pregnant, I gained more weight. Now I am 151 lbs. I haven't lost the weight I gained from my pregnancy yet and that's what I am trying to get rid of it now. I need a guide to help me reach my goal which is to weigh 118 lbs again. Thanks to Wellness Daily which would be very helpful for me to start reaching my goal.

Tinolang Manok/Chicken Soup with Greens

Soup is good for the body especially if you have meat and vegetables in it. It is also good for mothers who are breastfeeding like me. So I try my best to cook soup for my milk supply. This time around, I made Tinolang Manok (Chicken Soup). It was a simple recipe yet tasted so good. I only had chicken, bokchoy, onion and a chicken bouillon cube. I boiled a quart of water then added the meat and onion. Simmered it til tender then added the bouillon cube for more flavor. Pepper could be added too and ginger. I let it boil again then added the bokchoy. You may add any greens. I added the bokchoy last when there's no more fire to avoid over cooking. Then I served it with rice.

Three Cheese Chicken Penne

This is delicious! It was my first time to try Applebee's Three Cheese Chicken Penne. It was really good. So I told hubby that I will try making this at home. Good thing there is a recipe online that anybody can follow and enjoy an Applebee's pasta right from your home.

•2 boneless skinless chicken beasts
•Italian salad dressing
•penne pasta
•jar of Alfedo sauce
•bag of shredded Italian cheeses

•4 tomatoes
•6-8 basil leaves
•2-3 cloves of garlic
•6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

MAKE THE CHICKEN
Marinate chicken breasts in Italian salad dressing for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Grill on a George Foreman indoor grill until done.

MAKE THE BRUCHETTA
Chop tomatoes, garlic and basil. Add to a bowl with olive oil. Set aside

COOK PASTA
Dump in enough pasta for two people in boiling water and cook according to the package directions. Drain and divide into two bowls.

FINISH THE BOWLS
Cover the pasta with Alfredo sauce from the jar. Spoon on the fresh bruchetta, add the grilled sliced chicken and sprinkle on the Italian cheeses. Put in the microwave for 1-2 minutes to heat the sauce and melt the cheeses

Breakfast Fried Potatoes

This is hubby's quick recipe for breakfast potatoes. Mine always have onions and peppers. But he prefers this kind over my style. You only need a few pieces of potatoes peeled and cubed, and cooking oil. He fried it, stirring occasionally, and served it with our favorite ham and cheese omelet and Filipino breakfast hotdogs. And a cup of coffee made a start of his beautiful day.
